OLD RAILWAYS ON HORSEBACK
The Ystwyth Trail is a 21 mile linear trail between Aberystwyth and
Tregaron. Horse riding is permitted on several sections. It was a great
Western Railway branch line. The Trail has never been completed, due to
objections by landowners, so some sections take a diversion onto public
roads. We think it may be possible to take to Bridleways if wanting to
avoid roadwork, and to re-join the trail. The grid references reflect the
whole length of the trail, not just the parts that can be ridden on
horseback. There is a car park at Cors Caron as the south end of the
railway line.
