Situated in the Wirral Country Park this railway line stretches from West Kirby to Hooton. It overlooks the Dee Estuary to Wales and is now a country park. It can be ridden from Hooton but there is no access across the active railway line. There are car parks near Willaston and, if intending to ride from there, we would advise phoning the Council for advice as they are outside the country park area. Parking at the other end is Croft Drive at Caldy. There’s almost 12 miles of rideable track along the former Birkenhead railway. The park was formally opened in 1973.
