The Forest Way
The Forest Way is a flat route from Groombridge to East Grinstead. Mostly tree lined and about
8.85 miles long and a green corridor for wild life. A secondary name is the Sussex Border Path.
(You can continue on the Sussex Border Path/Worth Way towards Crawley once you have travelled
through East Grinstead on another disused line for a further 2.15 miles.)It was part of the Three
Bridges to Tunbridge Wells Central Line and opened in 1855 from East Grinstead to Tunbridge
Wells. The line was axed in 1967 Now Sustrans route 21 it is traffic free for Walkers Cyclists and
Horse riders.
