OLD RAILWAYS ON HORSEBACK

Stratford Greenway

Warwickshire

This railway follows a route from Long Marston to Stratford- upon-Avon and was opened in 1859 eventually closing in 1976. It was part of the Honeybourne Line. The total line length is 4.5 miles but is only permissively open for horse riders for 2.5 miles. Although there is a bridleway crossing the section beyond the Milcote Road Car park just half a mile further on, we cannot ascertain if there is any obstruction preventing horse riders access to that section from the bridle path.
